Magical and especial experience!

My husband dreamed of going to Bhutan since he was a little kid. As a young couple, we have traveled a lot but we always ended up postponing this trip due to the high costs/long distance from Brazil. We finally managed to visit Bhutan this April and it was such a magical and especial experience! We have no words to thank Raven for making this happen and helping us along the way. A huge thank you to Deepak and Maya for replying us so fast and for shaping our itinerary as we wished. A special thank you to our travel companions, our guide Tashi and driver Thinley – Tashi has an impressive knowledge of Bhutan and its culture, especially temples and its art; Thinley drove us safely through our journey, always kept the car clean and ready for us. Both Tashi and Thinley were extremely kind to us, always wanted to make sure we were comfortable and happy with our accommodations and meals, they were always on time and shared so many great facts and histories about Bhutan. The car we traveled was a Creta/Hyundai, new and very spacious.
A few highlights from our trip (so many we cannot list all of them!) and the places we visited during our ten days in Bhutan:
Paro; Haa valley with Chele la hiking (it was a difficult hike for us due to the altitude and the snow, but Tashi helped us along the way and we were glad we did it because we felt more prepared to tiger’s nest); Tiger’s nest hike (INCREDIBLE!!!) with an amazing dinner and hot stone bath at a farmhouse afterwards (we also tried – and failed – archery); Thimphu and the weekend market where we could see the local products and try some doma, Takin Preserve where we meet the famous Takin, and later we also had an amazing dinner with Deepak and other groups that were travelling with Raven (it was a pleasure to meet you Deepak and thank you for the souvenir 🙂 ); Phobjikha; Tromgsa and Bumthang (we tried an amazing potato momo); Domkhar Tsechu (we had initially planned to go to Ura tsechu, but our guide presented us with another option so we could decide which one we wanted to go. We opted for domkhar because was the last day of the festival and there were more attractions/dancing than the first day of ura festival), Tashi dressed us in Bhutanese traditional clothes and it was such a nice experience!!! We also had a great picnic lunch arranged by Tashi, Thinley and our hotel; Punakha and Talo village. Our last night in Paro was so special thanks to Tashi and Thinley! They took us to momo corner where we had great momos as an appetiser for our great dinner at a local brewery (red rice beer tastes amazing!).
We highly recommend Raven Tours and Trecks and we are looking forward to coming back in the future!!!!!

Truly unforgettable

I had a wonderful 10 days with Raven and I really have to thank my guide Kuenzang and my driver Tenzin for all their support to make it happen. Every box on my Bhutan wishlist checked!
For me the most precious thing during my trips will be to experience what the locals do the local way. My 10 days in Bhutan are truly unforgettable thanks to Kuenzang and Tenzin. Loved every minute of my trip and I recommend Raven ❤️

Memorable experience from beginning to the end!!!!!

My mom and I just finished our tour with Raven. It has been a fantastic experience from the beginning. Deepak was wonderful to interact with starting from the inquiry of the tour, setting up the tour and providing the final details. He was responsive as well as his staff who provided some of the itinerary details.
Our tour guide was Hem and driver was Collen. Both were fantastic. Hem was very diligent in his explanations of what we were seeing and encouraged us to ask questions. Throughout the tour, the pace was easy and not rushed. This was particularly important during the many hikes that we had. Never once he made us feel we were taking too long – we are definitely not as in shape as him haha. He was great and was one of the main reason that not only made our trip wonderful, but really enable us to have a warm and positive memory of Bhutan.
Collen was a great driver and maneuver the winding road with ease. He was also courteous and attentive.
This has been the best private tour that we have been on and so happy we have gone with Raven tour. It makes me want to go back and see other parts of the beautiful Bhutan!!!

Unforgettable experience

Immediately upon arrival, you will notice the beauty of Bhutan. The pristine rivers and tall pine trees with the backdrop of mountains is simply breath taking. Every little detail of our time here, co-ordinated with Raven Tours, was exceptional. Our guide Pema Lhadon and driver Singye Wangchuk ensured that we were well taken care of from the moment we arrived. Our time here was lighthearted, with singing in the car, and singing while rafting together. (Pema, your voice is a gift from God!) The highlight of this adventure was the climb to Tiger’s Nest. I never thought I was physically capable of completing this journey. Once I did, I was moved to tears. This holy place will fill your heart and soul for eternity. The hotels we chose were all so beautiful. Peaceful is a word that comes to mind when I reminisce about our time here. Thank you to Deepak and his team at RavenTours for this unforgettable experience.

Amazing Bhutan with Raven Tours

We had planning our visit to Bhutan for almost a year and after reading a lot of reviews on tripadvisor we finally zeroed down on Raven Tours.

The owner Deepak – is very prompt in replying to any queries and was able to provide us a good itinerary which was different from the usual ones. We had lots of treks and natural walking trails covered – not just the usual touristy things.

We had an amazing time with our guide Thinley who gave us insight in Bhutanese culture and traditions. He enthralled us with stories and connected the dots to the places we visited. The best part about Thinley was that he used to handle everything with a cheerful smile. Never once did he crib about anything or say that we couldn’t do this or that. His warm attitude added to the Bhutanese experience and we took back several memorable moments from the trip.

Our driver Jiwan, was also really good. He drove carefully in the high altitude and never fast which was perfect for us ( Else we would have been down with severe nausea).

On our last day, Deepak ( CEO) organised a traditional Bhutanese dinner for us. The place and food was delicious. We had a good time discussing about our respective cultures and politics. It’s really nice that he took time out to meet us and took feedback on the trip.

I would definitely recommend Raven Tours to anyone who is travelling to Bhutan for the following reasons –
1) Excellent accommodation at all places
2) Knowledgeable guide with a cheerful attitude
3) Good driver and clean vehicle
4) Reasonable pricing for the trip
What else do you need? 😉

Amazing trip

I knew Bhutan from a Tedtalk delivered by the Prime Minister of this beautiful country and then I decided to mark this place one of the destination I had to come in my life. My friend and I started to search all the information related to Bhutan and actually there was a tour agency in Vietnam who would connect us with the tour agency in Bhutan. We felt a bit hesitated at the beginning because in such case, we had to pay double for the service fee. I, then, searched on the Trip Advisor and found Raven Tours and Treks as the #1 in ranking here. The owner, Deepak, and his team (both office and field team) were very professional and friendly. They responded very fast and were flexible with our requirements.

We arrived Thimpu on sunny days of early October 2018 and were welcomed by Pema – the guide and Bhem – the driver. They both were very nice and funny. And they accompanied with us for the whole journey to make sure that we had a great trip and we did. We also had a welcome dinner with Deepak in person which, for me, was differentiated from other tour agencies I went with before.

Back to Bhutan, this is an amazing country that is totally different from my imagination. Bhutan is a developing country but I do think in some areas, they are the most developed among the Asia Region. For example, education and environment protection. 80% of Bhutanese can speak English very well which surprised me. Actually I had a chance to read through a physics book in English in the Dzong where a monk stayed and learned. The content was really heavy but I know education is the only way to develop a nation. In terms of environment, I have to say this is a “Green country”. The awareness of environment protection seems to be in the people’s blood. It’s very clean and green. I love this place because I wish this spirit can be spread all over the world not in this small country.
I do not highlight other things like food, traffic, accommodations… does not mean that they are not good. In fact, they are incredibly special. So let discover yourself and again we could not have a great journey without the incredible supports from Raven Tours and Treks.

Awesome Trip to the Land of the Thunder Dragons

We booked the Majestic Bhutan: 7 day trip with Deepak from Raven. The itinerary recommendations from Deepak were good and the booking process including confirmations were swift. As part of our trip we visited Thimphu, Phobjikhka, Punakha, & Paro. Mohan, our guide for the trip, is well informed and walked us through Bhutanese culture, history of places we visited, and did make sure that our group did practice treks before we headed for Tigers Nest [Totally worth it]. The hotels were comfortable and Mohan ensured we had good vegetarian food through the trip. Jiwan, our driver, drove around safely through the mountains. Loved my first trip to the Himalayas. Thank you Raven Team

Great trip with hiking and cultural focus

We were a group of three friends in our thirties that had our trip organised by Raven Tours and Treks. The service was excellent, both beforehand during planning and during our trip. They were all local with great knowledge of the country, the culture, the religion and history. Our absolute highlight was the Druk Path Trek. The landscape was incredible, the crew were amazing and the food the chef managed to prepare on his little stove was incredible. I would really recommend booking with Raven if you are going to Bhutan! Our guide was Pema Tshering and our driver was Bhim, and they were both exceptional.

Fantastic correspondence and Excellent planning

We took a 10 days special Bhutan Tour with Raven Tours and Trek.

My wife read extensively from Tripadvisor and decided to work with Raven Tours and Trek. Fantastic correspondence from the CEO Deepak from the very beginning.

Excellent planning. They even know what we are looking for!

Special thanks to Nawang and Ashit, our guide and driver, are extremely informative as well as taking good care of us.

I highly recommended you visit Bhutan with Raven Tours and Trek.

Bhutan is a country with so much colorful culture as well as scenery. Allow more time here if you can.

Absolutely phenomenal

Me and my wife had a blast in Bhutan. Our tour guide Tenpa and driver Penju are amazing. Their knowledge is impeccable and they took good care of us. Our flight tickets, e-permits, accommodations, transportation were all taken care of by the Raven tours and treks. We didn’t had to deal with the hassle of researching and booking the tickets at every place. We just had to enjoy. That’s pretty much what everyone wants without dealing with all the trivial stuff. We can’t stress enough how much we enjoyed our trip to Bhutan and it wouldn’t have happened with all the proper planning done and executed by the Raven tours and treks.

Deepak, ceo of the company was in constant contact with me to make sure everything was going well as planned. I can’t thank him enough for his incredible service and making our Bhutan experience phenomenal.

I highly recommend anyone who is planning to go to Bhutan to go with Raven tours and treks.

A trip to remember a lifetime

I can’t thank you enough for Raven tour to make my trip so memorable, smooth and easy. We came to Bhutan as a group of 5, Raven arranged everything from accommodation, transportation, and activities. Most tour operators in Bhutan are pretty much the same when I first contacted and researched about them, but after spending my 5 days with Raven, I definitely feel like home and more personal care. Whatever we need, we just need to let the tour guide Nim Dem knows and she surely makes everything possible. If you looking for a reliable tour, this is the one. Thank you so much for making the trip unforgettable.

Incredible trip

I recently returned home from an incredible trip traveling for 3 weeks. One of our stops was Bhutan through Raven Tours and Treks. We were greeted by our tour guide Mohan and driver Kinley who ensured our time there was filled with sights and activities that met our requests for a short two day adventure. Seeing beautiful peaceful country, dining at local restaurants, visiting monasteries dressing as Bhutanese and our unforgettable trek to “Tigers Nest”. We are so grateful for the hospitality that we experienced and only wish we could have spent more time in such a beautiful place. A special thank you to Kinley for driving us through the countryside and to Mohan for all his enthusiasm as he shared his knowledge of Bhutan and his encouragement that got us to the “Tigers Nest” and back. This was an adventure that will not be forgotten.

Impeccable Service

From the moment of sending my initial inquiries via email, I received a quick response from Deepak himself who owns and manages the company. He proposed an itinerary based on the 5 days I wanted to stay which was completely modifiable even once I’m in Bhutan.

At the airport, I was met by guide Mohan (AKA Mr. Bean of Bhutan) who gave me a welcome scarf. Nice touch!
Hem introduced himself as the driver and off we go in a clean, comfortable 4WD car for the start of the tour.

Mohan showed great knowledge of his country’s history, religion and current social issues. He usually does trekking tours and I was in for a treat since I am an avid hiker myself – we did walks at a nature park in Thimphu, to the fertility temple and a hilltop chorten in Punakha and of course, the fitting finale of them all, the hike up to Tiger’s Nest. In all, Mohan made sure I was doing fine (as I was).

Hem for his part was a very careful driver, showing his ability to negotiate the hairpin curves with ease and safety in mind as we went through Dochula Pass high up in the mountains. He always opened/closed the door for me as if I was royalty – what a pampering!

Deepak himself met me for dinner where I was introduced to Bhutanese cuisine. He also gave me a small painting as a welcome gift which was really a nice gesture. Over dinner, we talked about his country and our shared passion for traveling.

If I have to visit Bhutan again in the future, I will definitely go again with Raven Tours.

Most professional

If you are considering a trip to Bhutan – you will be aware that it is an expensive option and if you are normally an independent traveller it’s quite strange to hand over control to a tour company . Having written to 10 companies I felt Raven was the most professional and exhaustive in their answers to me – no matter how silly the question was. The tour of Bhutan was fantastic it was a busy schedule but we felt that are time there was used wisely . The archery and hot stone bath were fun things on our last day. If I return to Bhutan without hesitation I would call on Raven again.

Amazing Tour

I highly recommend Raven Tours. I got in touch with Deepak, the CEO of the company, who customised my tour as I wanted to do 9 day tour. It was a smooth process to organise the tour. We had dinner in one of the traditional restaurants- food was great, but too much, I couldn’t finish it. He was a gracious and entertaining host.
My tour guide was Kinley and my driver was Singye. Both of them are warm, friendly and very experienced/knowledgeable. I did a combination of culture and hiking which I would highly recommend. I did a farm visit which was fantastic – a lot of fun and great meal.
I also absolutely enjoyed having meals in small local cafes. I am happy that Kinley exposed me to some authentic local experience.
I got a bit of altitude sickness at the tail end of my trip and both Kinley & Singye were mindful of it. Kinley would check up at the night to see if I was ok.
I would recommend Bhutan-it is a unique country, there is no Starbucks, MacDonalds, etc. You will never come off feeling like it’s just another city/country.

What our Travelers Had to Say

This November, I spent 4 days exploring Bhutan. In that time I came to realise just how special this unique kingdom is and I hope to convey that realisation in this video. My trip was organised by Raven Tours and Treks. I had my own private guide who was very well informed and had extensive knowledge to answer all my questions – no matter if they were political, religious or even personal. ”
