Day 1
Paro | Pristine Landscape
Arrive at Paro and visit the National Museum of Bhutan and Kyichu Lhakhang. In the evening, stroll around the town and interact with locals. Overnight in Paro.
Day 2
Paro – Bumthang | Central Bhutan
*Fly to Bumthang in Central Bhutan and visit Jambay Lhakhang, the oldest temple in Bhutan. Afterwards, visit Kurje Lhakhang and Mebar Tsho (The Burning Lake). End your day with a visit to Tamzhing Lhündrup Monastery, the most important centre of Nyingma Buddhism in Bhutan. Overnight in Bumthang.
*Subject to availability of seats. Flights to Bumthang are often delayed or cancelled due to bad weather. In case of delay or cancellation, we will provide road transfers or alternate flying options and customize your itinerary accordingly.
Day 3
Bumthang | “The Beautiful Field”
Visit Jakar Dzong (Yuelay Namgyal Dzong) and enjoy beautiful views of Chokhor Valley. Afterwards, drive to Tang Valley to visit Ogyen Choling Heritage House. Overnight in Bumthang.
Day 4
Bumthang – Trongsa | Cultural Heartland of Bhutan
Drive past Chumey Valley to Trongsa. En route, stop at Zungney Village and visit a workshop of Yathra weavers. Upon reaching Trongsa, visit magnificent Trongsa Dzong, the largest fortress in Bhutan. Afterwards, visit Ta-Dzong (Trongsa Royal Heritage Museum), situated above the Dzong. Overnight in Trongsa.
Day 5
Trongsa – Phobjikha/Gangtey | Spectacular Scenery
Drive through a scenic route to Phobjikha/Gangtey, a lovely valley near Pele La. Upon reaching Phobjikha, visit the Black-necked Crane Information Centre. It houses informative exhibits on Black-necked Cranes and other Himalayan species. Overnight in Phobjikha/Gangtey.
Day 6
Phobjikha/Gangtey – Punakha/Wangdue | The Old Capital
Visit Gangteng Monastery, an important seat of Nyingma Buddhism in the country. Afterwards, hike the Gangtey Nature Trail. This is among the most popular (and easy) trails in the valley. Later Drive to Punakha/Wangdue. Overnight in Punakha/Wangdue.
Day 7
Punakha/Wangdue | The Terraced Fields
Start your day with a visit to Chimi Lhakhang (The Temple of Divine Madman). Hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten and enjoy stunning views of the valley. Afterwards, visit magnificent Punakha Dzong and the longest suspension bridge of the country behind the fortress. Later drive to Talo Village and stroll amid the surrounding cedar forest. On your way back, visit Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup Nunnery. Overnight in Punakha/Wangdue.
Day 8
Punakha/Wangdue – Dochu La – Thimphu | Bhutan Himalayas
Drive to Thimphu via Dochu La and enjoy spectacular views of Bhutan Himalayas. Also, visit 108 chortens and Druk Wangyal Lhakhang. From Dochu La, hike to Lungchutse Gompa – an 18th-century temple dedicated to the local deity Tashi Barwa –from Dochu La. Upon reaching Thimphu, visit Buddha Dordenma, an enormous bronze statue of Buddha. Afterwards, visit Memorial Chorten, a major landmark of the city. Later, visit Weekend Market and stroll around the main market of the city and relax at Thimphu Clock Tower Square. Overnight in Thimphu.
Day 9
Thimphu – Paro | The Sacred Monastery
Drive to Paro and hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery. In the afternoon, visit a farmhouse in the valley to observe daily life in a rural Bhutanese household. Afterwards, try your hand at archery. Later, dress up in Bhutanese attire and pose for pictures. End your day with a relaxing hot-stone bath in your hotel. Overnight in Paro.

Departure
Drive to Paro Airport to fly home.

Once you confirm your trip, send us a scan of your passport at least 2 weeks prior to the planned date of arrival. Visa is issued by Tourism Council of Bhutan once full payment of your vacation has been received. We will send you the copy of your visa via email which you will have to produce at the airport along with your valid passport on arrival. Citizens of India, Bangladesh and Maldives can obtain route permit upon arrival at the port of entry; however, they are required to carry their passports or a state issued valid Voter’s Card.

In order to safeguard the cultural ethos and environment of the country, Royal Government of Bhutan regulates the volume of travellers through the policy of “high value low impact” tourism. This ensures that a limited number of tourists visit the kingdom and receive best service. As a part of the policy, the government has fixed a Daily Minimum Package for all travellers visiting Bhutan. The tariff for this trek is as follows:
USD 250 per person per night. This cost includes:
- Three Star Accommodation
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
- Transport for Local Transfers
- Camping Equipment and Porter Services for Treks
- Taxes and Charges
- USD 65 as Sustainable Development Fees
- Entry Fees for all Tourist Sites

Trekking Supplements Charge of USD 40 per person per day for the duration of the trek.
